  1. I thought Pat said during the podcast that you don't need to win the mandatory card game part. You are forced to play but not win. Was that Crazy Talk again?

  2. I get what Woolie means by the smell not equaling taste, But I've had a similar experience with sauerkraut: Used to hate it, but now I think it's amazing!

Look, I wanna love Tetra Master. But holy f**k is it so random and dumb! It feels like one of those games you play as a kid when you make up the rules as you go! If it wasn't mandatory later on, I'd say it's fine as a dumb diversion. But just like the Blitzball tourney in FFX, it doesn't need to be included in the story, at all!

  3. Just a small town knight, lost in the big city!
He yells "Princess!" while running everywhere!
Just a monkey boy, went and got the South Gate destroyed!
He stares at girls butts swaying eveywhere!

  4. Woolie, just a head's up for Tetra Master. Keep an eye on the number of card doubles you have. There are 100 cards in total and they only let you hold 100. That means one of each.
Much later in the game, if you want to try filling out that screen. Potentially picking up a rare drop from battle or an event. It will be auto-discarded if you have too many cards in your collection.

  5. Woolie at Ep.1: "This will not be a playthrough that explores everything"
    Woolie at Ep.12: "THE CARD GAME IS D E E P"

  6. All I'll say is, thank god for the Memoria mod options that allow you to reduce the RNG factor of this card game because yikes!
Speaking of, an upcoming update is set to replace Tetra Master with Triple Triad entirely, as well as adding some interesting alternative hybrid modes, so that's cool

  7. 42:19 FF7 Cloud reference if you click on the swords displayed. Woolie missed the referenced and forgot to check out the swords!

  8. Woolie needs to read the tetra master spreadsheet to understand the values that are on the cards so that he can win games. He's still looking only at the arrows and thinking that a completely random dice roll determines a win or loss. In actuality he's just playing cards with low number ranges hoping to beat cards with higher number ranges and ends up losing every time. The stats of the cards matter more than the arrows. Also if he battles with his cards enough they level up their stats, if he doesn't get them taken away by losing a match.

His best option at this point is to forego playing against npc's and just grinding random battles for cards for when that mandatory tournament comes up.

  9. Card game is indeed deep, if it didn't have the rng it would be great. Just keep an eye on the arrows of the opponents cards , if you win a battle it will change each card it points at.

  10. I feel like anything fermented smells awful, but tastes okay. Kimchi comes to mind. It smells like death, but tastes alright.

  11. 14:45 Isn't Woolie already winning in this setup? He just snatched defeat from the jaws of victory by placing that card there and battling when he didn't have to?

  12. I think the idea is that the pieces of the fruit that you don't eat are what smells bad, but the good stuff inside doesn't have the smell.

  13. holy crap Woolie I know you're the fighting game guy but you don't need to go for the combos. Majority of my wins was actively avoiding and denying that mechanic and just grabbing point from blind spots and denying combos just incase I get battled on.

  14. Its painful watching them get so hung up on rolling the dice in Tetra Master when they could be easily winning with clever placement against the opponent's openings. The RNG is definitely a thing that can screw you over sometimes, but if you just play smart with your card placement and think ahead, you'll win most of the time.

  15. 4:25 I think that different peoples must have different taste buds. There are so many memes about certain folk not seasoning their food that the people saying this must just have bad/dead taste buds to not be able to taste anything that isn't covered in salt and sugar.

  16. TETRA MASTER EXPLAINED: The attack and defense values are EACH used to roll a number from VALUE*16 to VALUE*16+15. This is shown. BUT THEN the game rolls a number between 0 and the roll. Whichever card has the higher DIFFERENCE (the value after they tick down) wins.
So because how much they tick down is random, you could be a top tier card, roll 255 then 250, and lose to a 0-defense card that rolled 10 and 2

Since all the numbers are so low it's basically just random. attacking has a slight advantage as a tiewinner, but more or less it's a coin flip festival.

  17. Card Power

Each card has 3 numbers and a letter, for example, 3M45. In this example, the card attacks magically with a power of 3, and has physical defense of 4 and magical defense of 5. The numbers are very straightforward: higher numbers mean a higher chance of the card winning a card battle. Each value is actually in hexadecimal notation, so letters (A-F) are stronger than numbers 0-9. As to the letter in the middle, P means physical, M means magical, X means power (the card uses the lowest of the opposing card's defensive stats when attacking), and A means Advanced (the card uses the opposing card's lowest overall number as the defense against it, and uses the highest number on the A card as its attack power). As you can see, X and A cards are especially advantageous, as they tend to nullify weak points the card would otherwise have. (If you don't believe me, get a BA9C Invincible card and watch it smite.)

  18. All these tetra master losses and losing cards makes me yearn for combat. My sympathies to Woolie and my wrath to the townspeople.

  19. bro pat literally said on the podcast that's it's one instance and you don't even need to win lol so who cares

  20. Woolie: Throws a guaranteed victory by battling when he didn't have to.
Woolie: Is there any way to get a guaranteed victory when you always have to roll the dice?

Remember when he was calling himself a Tetra Master? I sure do.
