I like how the two on the bottom left suggested that Rudy should buy her and set her free. How did they think a child would survive on her own? Especially in that world?
It seems people aren't paying attention to the show at all and she the show as a regular isekai. If they where paying attention they would understand why rudy wouldn't care to do anything about the slave market
I'm tired of people complaining about the world of mushoku, they think the protagonist has to become an altruist and end slavery and then what? This world is a mirror of a society 200 years ago! Rudeus sees himself in Julie not as a slave but as a person who didn't want to live, the scene is chewed up (but I think because of other people's opinions they think that Rudeus will always be the bad one even doing good) for you to understand the crucial point what is :
motivate Julie to CHOOSE what she wants!

Mushoku tensei is an isekai that you have to tune out that we live in a society that has broken those ties, when you read or watch something based on a medieval society that has slavery, we have to be a spectator and not a judge on how much we watch, when we review something YES we can put our point of view but never forgetting the core society in mushoku. Because I think that when you venture into this work you have to accept what their world is, I doubt at all that many of those who watched GOT didn't even criticize, they became a normal spectator and accepted the world that was presented to them.
The anime seems to struggle with giving the full picture to certain parts of the story and end up shining characters and their decisions in a weird light without context (i.e. Elinalise and why she sleeps with many men, but the anime only explains the curse an episode later, leaving the viewers to judge her actions unfairly). I don't really blame the animators since you can only cram so much stuff in a 23 minute episode and mushoku tensei is text heavy in the manga with a lot of context explained through Rudeus' narration. But based on this video alone, you can see how some things without the full context can cause viewers to misjudge the characters and their motives, turning genuinely kind gestures, to as one said "sus" things.

SAVING THEM BY SET THEM FREE IS GOOD IDEA BUT NOT ALL APPLIES TO THAT LOGIC.
SLAVES SOMETIMES HAVE HAPPINESS WITH GOOD OR BAD PEOPLE THEY WERE BOUGHT AT.
SLAVE MARKET HAVE BAD AND GOOD SLAVES BEING PUT IN THERE WITH A REASONS.

The very hypocritical thing I cant understand:
We have outrage, which is understandable. It doesn't fit your moral compass. yet you criticize a fictional character who wont lash out in anger for the economics (slavery) of the world he lives in.
– regardless of it being slavery (which is bad) it is a business within that world and if he did anything illegal, he would most likely be arrested by the authorities of that city.
– the point of Rudy asking her that question, is to make sure living or dying would be her CHOICE. keyword CHOICE. not imposing his own free will upon another person for a narrative moral compass.
– disregarding rules, law, and logic. does not equate to "So you are okay with Slavery??" obviously not.
But most importantly, how can any of these reactors empathize anything that concerns slavery, when they are sitting in middle to low class homes/ with AC and a couch. History itself is uncomfortable yes, gladly now we are in a time were we can progress and bypass laws to end oppression of any kind.
But this is an Isekai genre, a fictional one at that. and most likely an "Heroic" Antics like freeing all the slaves (Because "I FEEL" its the right thing to do) would be against the laws of that world.

2 – if he took them all for himself, how will he be able to feed all of them? he already had a hard time taking care of Eris and Ruijerd. try using logic and brain sometimes. it helps.

When Rudy offered Julie to be saved or to die, everyone was focused that he is merciless.
When Rudy saved one slave, everyone whined why didn't he do the same to everyone.

When Rudy got killed twice, no one batted an eye.
When Rudy got physically abused by Eris, everyone laughed.

“Buy and give her freedom” lmao. a typical modern people who knows nothing about despair. This scene reminds of that Kingdom LN where ending slavery just because you can do it wont do any good. People must wish for themselves not to die and have a reason to live. Simply giving people “freedom” like a typical westerner slogan wont cut it.
