This song was written as an ode and tribute to all those who grieved and lost and suffered depression during the COVID pandemic. It also has some gospel elements, because Midori (blonde guitarist and writer of this song) had recently returned from a trip to the US, during which she was invited to some Black Southern Gospel churches, and she was impressed with the passion in their music, so she wanted some elements of gospel music in the song. Asami, who writes the lyrics, also started out as an R&B, gospel and soul singer before turning to metal, so she added some gospel lyrical tropes as well. Lastly, the video was recorded just before Christmas, so they added the man to the video to give it a seasonal element, as he is meant to represent Christ. As Asami put it in an interview, she was imagining what it would be like if Christ were reincarnated (her choice of words, as Japanese Christianity is heavily infused with Buddhism and other traditional Japanese beliefs) and suddenly awakened into this confusing modern world. Don't worry, though, your vampiric underworld won't be destroyed by listening to Lovebites, lol. They aren't a Christian band, they just occasionally include spiritual themes in their songs. Welcome to the best metal band on the planet. You ain't seen nothing yet! If you like it, keep going and disregard any snarky comments (e.g., your dancing is too distracting), lol. As long as you like it and are having fun – keep going! Do a couple more MVs before you jaw-drop watching them live. Recommend Shadowmaker MV…one of my favorites! 🤘
Lovebites is known for their speedy and melodic guitar solos by Midori and Miyako, backed by relentlessly fast drumming and bass playing by Haruna and Miho (now Fami). Over top of which is the angelic voice of Asami. Phenomenal band. They also have heavier thrash metal songs too. FYI – the greatest love of all is actually not loving yourself. It is to lay down your life for another. Agape love is not self-love. Agape love is selfless and sacrificial love.

IMHO, Lovebites is the BEST metal band on the planet right now. Others have their 'moments', but Lovebites just SLAYS song after song, with great variety of style and almost always a non-stop blistering pace (they do have some ballads tho) I'm going to recommend something different I think you will really enjoy – Swan Song [+Chopin Intro] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WBhtqgiXEA4 Miyako (blk hair guitar) shreds Chopin on the piano, and then shreds her guitar in an epic Masterpiece she composed – Lyrics by Asami (vocals)
