2026年4月23日の市川市動植物園。
この日は朝からどんよりとした曇り空で、昼前には雨も降り出しましたが、パンチ君はそんな天気を吹き飛ばすほど元気いっぱい！朝からお友達とかけっこをしたり、ひとり遊びに夢中になったりと、まさに「疲れ知らず」な姿を見せてくれました。
そして、4月20日に誕生したばかりの新しい命。雨の中でも赤ちゃんを必死に守り、抱っこする母親の姿には胸を打たれます。一方で、猿山社会の厳しさも。チョビが攻撃を受けてしまう場面があり、野生に近い彼らの世界の厳粛さを目の当たりにしました。
特に印象的だったのは、パンチ君より大きな子猿が母親に甘え、母乳を飲むシーンです。人工保育で育ち、ぬいぐるみを母としてきたパンチ君の境遇と重ね合わせると、言葉にできない感情が込み上げます。しかし、彼には信頼できる飼育員さん（パパさん）がいます。その絆もぜひご覧ください。

April 23, 2026: A day at Ichikawa City Zoological & Botanical Gardens.
Despite the overcast skies and late morning rain, Punch was in high spirits! From morning runs with friends to focused solo play, he was truly “tireless.”
We also captured the “new life” born on April 20. Seeing the mother tenderly shielding her newborn from the rain was deeply moving. In contrast, we witnessed the harsh reality of macaque society as Chobi faced aggression from others—a stark reminder of their social hierarchy.
A particularly poignant moment was seeing a young monkey, larger than Punch, still nursing from its mother. Contrasting this with Punch’s own journey, it’s hard not to feel a surge of emotion. Yet, even without his biological mother, Punch has a wonderful bond with his keepers.
