I kinda like this album's anger 😅
I may be a minority, but I'm like, 1 of… 5 people in this world? Maybe? that really loves St. Anger. Yeah we all know production is terrible, we get that, but it's symbolic of what they went through for over 3 years. This album is open and honest… and we all need to keep in mind, Metallica almost came to an end in 2001, and now here we are in 2025, still talking about our favorite band of all time, and I for 1 am glad they are still together… and let's be real here, without this album, Death Magnetic, Hardwired, & 72 Seasons wouldn't have existed… You may not like this album, but we all need to respect it 🤘🏻

Easiest tierlist to make. All go in the D row. Haven't listened to this album since 2003 and won't ever listen to it again.
Sigh st anger isn't for everyone. I love the album. Yes the snare drum is shit but I love what James is doing. The rest I can live with.
I love Metallica but honestly i cant find one redeeming thing about this album, its painfully obvious there heart wasnt into making this thing, and i know the drums are always a big talking point but they never fail to give me a migraine… in fairness there is a better mix of this album i've heard on youtube but even then the songwriting just isn't there. I'm glad they pulled it back round after on death magnetic though

The Unnamed Feeling is one of my favorite Metallica songs of all time. And with gems like AWMH and Sweet Amber it is already a cooler album for me than 72 Seasons with all it's songs

The Unnamed Feeling is one of my favourite Metallica songs ever while SKOM is one of the most underrated tracks. I want to love Invisible Kid but that whiny part ruins it unfortunately. Same can be said about Purify's pre-chorus. AWMH doesn't have much cringy stuff but overrall it doesn't flow very well.

Bad album overall, bad performances and over bloated songs…the B category is very close to C due to those 2 things…

I’ve always wanted them to redo the whole album in the Black Album production and with James singing properly.
I always felt Frantic and Some Kind of Monster could have been great songs if they had the same time and polish that previous albums had. But unfortunately Lulu and St Anger arent even close to other albums.
So many killer riffs on this album. Unfortunately listening to it makes me wanna punch a baby.
This is my 2nd favorite of their albums. The raw anger is unique and therapeutic to listen to. The Unnamed Feeling and My World are relatable asf for me

this album is different and unfairly abused. They didn't have any material and they didn't even think they were still going to be a band. These songs are the result and pull heavily from James' rehab. They also were not songs that they could tour on…. these songs were never going to work live outside of a couple and that's fine. It is the most atypical Metallica record, but its part of their history and its raw and unpretty. Still kicks ass though just for different reasons. It wasn't like hey new album, new tour…it was like this is what we've been through and you can listen in on it, too.
The radio edit of Monster cleans it up quite a bit too
The Unnamed feeling and the verses of AWMH are what makes the album for me, everything else I can do without. Thanks for the video!
I disappear had bad snare but you don’t really notice as the rest of the instruments is nicely produced, and it’s one song for a movie.
Mind boggling that they produced it like this and wrote mostly songs that are not like their previous albums.i don’t get it? Haha
This album gets undeserved hate. God forbid they do something different. It’s heavy and raw.
