Thanks for watching guys. If you are interested be sure to join the Discord server and follow my Twitter which are linked in the description.
So it’s a concept ark book?
I remember finding Plastiboo b ack when X was Twitter, so this makes my brain really happy
Holly, im kinda sad that its just a book. I would play the shit out of Godhusk just coz of the artstyle alone. But i think ill at least buy the book soon❤
if he had the resources to make a book like this… then why not actually try to make a game?
the world building reminds me alot of I have no mouth and I must scream. Like a world after Am where humans try to live with what they have remaining.
This reminds me of how me and my cousins imagined creatures like this and drew them and explained to each other how they work when we were children. Good times
This is cool. But it kinda lost steam for me the endings just ended up being the story of asmodeus from dnd
🔥
I really hope you will make a video about Vermis I too! Really love this one! Keep up the great work!
40:46 I can't hear I'm a deltarune fan
Thumbnail looks kinda like the Hydra boss from the end of Level 3 on Shinobi 3 😅
Blame is pronounced "Blam" by the way.
God, I wish this game existed 😢 I can’t play with the homies?
"Yeah the world is destroyed. More on that later." AYY BRO I stopped eating for a whole ten seconds, he so casual with it😂
I had an image of what this game would be. Slow. Methodical. Requiring a sharp mind and keen wit.
Then the breakcore hit, and all I can think about is the Hand dual wielding flesh revolvers and wallrunning while doing sick backflips.
Perhaps that’s the what the 2010s remake of Godhusk was?
I have this book and it's nice to see a video about it!
Rainworld 2 looking good!
"Drew like a dark f*cked up version of Hollow Knight hehe guess im just too hardcore for ye"
Jokes aside, this is cool.
Really nice video! I'd just read through both vermis and godhusk recently so this was perfect timing to see your channel recommended. Being able to go over the book again through different words and with different perspectives helped digest it all, and the visual/audio touches you added to the video really went a long way with making it immersive. The combo of the no ai disclaimer and the fake start menu had me settle in instantly.
On that note, your personal interpretation of the book through the modern lens of generative ai discussion and automation is really compelling; it hadn't occurred to myself when reading, but I enjoy the way that the book opens up so many channels of emotional interpretation such as that one without any of them needing to be 'right' or 'wrong'.
wonder what stopped the games devlopment (16 mins in) sounds rough but fun id of played it lol
this whole video was very cool, at least the parts i managed to stay focused for, it made my mind wander a lot, and im definitely going to listen again later
We need that book pitched to folks from Wormwood studio.
I love videos on plastiboo's work and I have physical copies of Vermis 1+2, an element I think people should consider when watching these videos compared to reading the book is the ink of the books have a distinct smell. I do not live in Europe where these books are printed but I am also fascinated by this part of the experience with a Hollow Press book.
i've never really been fond of biopunk sci fi because biopunk technology itself is such an awful idea that i can't imagine any civilization with the capability to make it being dumb enough to do so.
Well, watching this vid cost me 95€ for both Vermis books + Godhusk + shipping. Not a great deal.
I also find it so funny that this art series? Game? is designed for replay-ability and inventory management as cool mechanics
So, this is just someone's design doc for a video game they can't actually make? I guess if it's never made, it can never disappoint.
1:07 Suddenly german national hymn….
Reminded 5:01 me about Fear And Hunger 😅
Hmm yup, this is the future future future of AI
5:01 A terrifying presence has entered the room..
Checked out Hollow Press for Vermis and jumped on this the second I saw it. Check out their board games too, they're great looking and fun! Cyberflesh in particular is the closest thing to a playable Godhusk.
Aaaand like that I’ve subbed from one sudo-psychopath to another lol.
Ahh, so that's why the concept felt familiar, it was made by the same guy who did the other example of this genre that's also just as visceral.
NES Godzilla if it was made by H.R. Geiger
oh god it's fear and hunger all over again
Thanks, dude. I really didn't need this tonight… but the Giger-like horror is always fun for kicks in 2D land. It is amazing noone actually tried to program this madness… maybe hellraiser vr will help? hahaha
Really cool
LOVE the discl/AI/mer & perked up when it got brought back around, poignantly. this was pretty sick, as an owner of the book. BUY IT YALL, plastiboo's goated
I'm begging you to do an analysis on vermis in this style it's amazing
"hmm well i still haven't sat down to read my copy of Godhusk so I'll save this for later… Wait, Dogma? Isn't that the guy who made the Baroque video?" Checks channel "IT IS!! Subscribe!"
Love your work so far, keep it up man! I'll be sure to come back to watch this after I read my copy of Godhusk, but in the meantime I'm gonna check out your other stuff!
