Gaming With The New Nvidia RTX 5050…

Today we’re gaming with the new and rather elusive Nvidia GeForce RTX 5050. I’ve wanted to see what this new budget graphics card can do for a while, but haven’t been able to find one until a month after it launched!

Let’s put it to the test with a selection of games at 1080p.

  1. at 199$, 16 pcie lines and 75w tdp no external power, would be a nice graphic card, a worthy successor of the rtx3050, but no… 🤡🤡🤡

  2. my RTX 2080 Ti, came out in 2018, and my card – thats 7 years old demolishing the competition. this is sad. thanks, But, – ill stay with my 2080Ti

  3. Would MUCH rather see the 5050 compared to the 9060xt 8GB if its 30 quid more, since its not a 5060 but a 5060ti competetor, often with even better 1% lows due to the full x16 pcie slot… i mean its 10 pounds more for another 15% better performance…

  4. The RTX 5050 8GB is 109% faster than my GTX 1650 Super 4GB. I can buy at Amazon US for $250.00. Or I can buy the RTX 5060 8GB for $300.00. The RTX 5060 is 151% faster than my GTX 1650 Super 4GB on User Benchmark site. I see a new low end 50 series in my future. No I do not want Radeon or Intel Arc. Cheers all

  5. Yeesh. Needs to be far, far cheaper for that performance.

It's in the same price class as a 9060XT 8GB model (I would consider 10% money one way or the other the same price class) in the UK. Other reviews have put it around 20% more expensive per frame at 1080p than the 9060XT, and 30% more expensive per frame at 1440p. Even with the 9060XT being crippled by it's vram cap at that res.

  6. I think we should not have to have x8 cards anymore because if ur still on a pci 3.0 or 4.0 it's worse on fps dips all cards should be x16 lanes

  7. its really bad value, just get a used 10 or 30 series.

edit: this performance for $125 would be good value. Anything about 140 is just a waste.

  8. Sadly all the new cards are crippled so they don't work very well in PCIE3. They are even crippled in PCIE4. It is like when AMD made the RX 6500 XT, but because they are so much faster, PCIE3 has become a severely limiting factor when using 8 lanes and 8GB. There are some test on YouTube that shows this, the difference can be really big in some cases. So you cannot just upgrade older PCs with the cheaper new cards, you have to buy a whole new computer, which is not cheap as it is now, or use a higher level model 30 series card.

  9. People complain about Nvidia still offering 8GB of VRAM. RTX 5050 has one more thing to complain about: It has the same amount of processing units as RTX 3050..after 3.5 years.

They went from Samsung 8LPP to TSMC 4N. Not for our benefit, but for theirs: They managed to make the GPU 50% smaller.

  10. Sometimes I go dogsitting for my friend. I take my ps5 and run it into a big old plasma and it looks awesome. Nothing wrong with 1080p and I'm kinda glad it's still around

  11. Great little 1080p card, but honestly too powerful because this couldve been great if it was 75w tdp and relied off pcie.

  12. Should have been cheaper with how far Nvidia limited it. It's apparently is a really really impressive overclocker, Trash Bench got one up to 3300mhrz core

  13. What are the specs on the test bench? Idk if you mentioned it, though I'm pretty sure that the cards tested were the bottleneck. 😅
