Fabrication: but don't see it as negative. Large groups of people need a Myth and Government system: otherwise it's trouble.
Egyptians had a spiritual form of government. The Jews have King David (Sun) and Yeshua the Prophet (Moon).
Rome had it's Symbols (Gods) and Temples. Barbarians are the Un-governed. It was far more sophistigated than you might think.
Christianity brought you to Heaven; so you forgot about Earth. But this had also a very good reason. It's not about bad intentions.
All agreed on one thing: there is more between Heaven and Earth.
