Hey TDF Fans! and ICW Fans!
After 3 days in the high Pyrenees and an all out climbing assault, we leave the mountains and are headed to Carcassonne. Looking at the profile one might think it is for the Sprinters, but the Cat 2 lump only 50km from the finish will probably prevent that. The first hour of this stage will be an all out war of repeated breakaway attempts and the sprint teams trying to control the peloton until the first Sprint point at 60km. Once we pass there we will see even more attacks as teams hungry for a win go on the hunt for the breakaway win. This will be a ring a ding dong dandy! And the Ventoux is right after the rest day, the last week is brutal. The Tour is not over yet. @LeTourDeFrance

A lumpy transitional stage with rolling climbs and a fast finale. One last chance before the rest day.

* Côte de Sorèze – 6.2 km @ 5.5% (Cat 3)
* Pas du Sant – 2.9 km @ 10% (Cat 2)

Final 30 km: downhill into a flat run-in to Carcassonne. Could go to a break or a powerful sprinter.

* **Crosswinds possible**: peloton splits could happen on open roads.
* GC contenders will likely conserve energy before the rest day.
