We’re back into the renos and one step closer to finishing the van upgrades! This week, we tackled more of the build — but of course, it didn’t all go to plan…
Tim tried to surprise me by staining the shelf while I was out… and let’s just say, the colour choice wasn’t quite right. So we had to backtrack (again) and figure out how to fix it without starting from scratch.
And just when we thought we were finally done — we tested our new freezer for the first time… and it didn’t freeze. 😩

looking good!, booo on the freezer though:( You will hate my laptop. it has a light bar around it and change color constantly. I have learned to overlook it but it is there! my laptop doubles as a discoball LOL

I installed Narva usb ports in my bus. They have a display that tells you the voltage which is bright red but thankfully they also have covers on them which you just flip open when you want to use them so you can't see the light when they are closed.
-18 for the freezer.
I run my dometic portable freezer in my van at -18 degrees.
We have a kings fridge freezer we run the freezer at – 8
Our freezer is set a -15C it does get there, We check with a freezer thermometer. It is an LG CR65 I think
Not sure if it would be the same but we need to put things in already frozen into our caravan freezer. If they are not frozen they eventually freeze but it takes a lot longer than a home freezer.

My deep freezer is set at -18
Hi guys, my 50ltre Brass Monkey Fridge/Freezer is set to -18 for the freezer side. I checked the Kings one and it says it only goes to -10 but that should freeze at that temp. It may take overnight, cheers
It's also a good idea to seal wood, so no mould. Wood has sugars in it, that mould will eat off, especially with moisture. I like having led lights at night as it helps to see your way when getting up. Yeah not in your face. A lot of camping freezers will only freeze if packed
I’m just wondering, why you got rid of your toilet and shower
I ran my kings fridge as a freezer for a month away recently. Set it to -12 and everything stayed frozen and I made ice easily for a cold drink in a few hours. Surely 2° difference wouldn't change things that much or would it?
