Can see an explanation for why Bertholdt didn't make the colossal disappear is simply because he needed the cover to not be spotted even after the steam is gone. He wouldn'´t have been able to put on the odm gear whilst in his titan, so he'd have to put it on after getting out and would also have to carry Ymir with him after that, so the cover of the colossal would give him a bit more time after the steam was gone

The Reiner-Bertholdt conversation comes from a song the two sing (called Alternate Drive), it's like bonus content. Mikasa, Eren, Jean, Armin, Erwin, and Levi also have personal songs. They two have bonus dialogue content, but not sure if people had uploaded those ones.

It’s not a plot hole—marleyans train Titan warriors to hone their skills. It takes longer for Titan bones to evaporate, so bertolt trained specifically to burn up his bones quickly in order to stay undercover…. Wouldn’t want a colossal skeleton being found near you all the time lol
