People should stop using maps of that include HRE internal divisions in maps about europe and show it just one "solid" realm like they do with other european realms.
Either that or they should show fiefdom bordergore that was happening with rest of "feudal" realms before states started to centralize again.
But I guess people like to do that because HRE has most accurate maps of eras and it never managed to modernize its internal divisions.
It's always wild for me when I remember that Benjamin Franklin was born in 1706, just one generation after the Battle of Vienna. The other founding fathers were mostly men in their 20s-mid 40s, and they were genuinely astonished at how much energy he still had at his advanced age during the revolution.
