DRAGONS BABY !!!!
This season was the first anime that Kyoani Studio did after they were attacked by a crazy man who poured gasoline in the entrances and stairways and started a fire. He was mentally ill and was under the delusion they had plagiarized his work. The attack killed 36 people and wounded 34 more, killing many of the people who worked on the first season. You can tell by the quality this season that they really put a lot of work into the show to make it beautiful.
Ilulu is an actual fire based dragon (she eats fire and coal to recharge mana) so she has fire sacs which store the fire mixture (like a lizard might have venom sacs) which materialize as her extremely large chest in human form. She's cynical of humanity for reasons which you'll see, and kinda dumb sometimes which is why she thought Kobayashi was a man.
I think the Lucoa dancing bit was making fun of her being a flying serpent. Quetzalcoatl was an Aztec god (here a goddess) who was a large serpent with wings – she is by FAR the most powerful of all the dragons and she is massive in dragon form (you can see her flying in the background with the other dragons in the opening) – since she is a snake they were making fun of snake charmers by having her dance when Shouta played his recorder.
To be fair, Ilulus chest is in reference to her powers…itll be explain a bit later but there is a reason for her being disproportional and for how she portrays her appearance. The manga has way more fan service, but the anime toned it down to stay more in the cute side due to the studio managing more of those style of series and working with something that can be way out of the comfort zone may be challenging but doable. Just like you mentioned… look at Kana… they can make her look so cute. XD I loved watching your reaction to the 1st season and will continue with the 2nd season.
expecting to see y'all reaction to Ilulu took away Tohru burning the Title episode job away from her, but we got no reaction from it. like gone with the wind..the Chinese version Nerfed Ilulu Boba a lot compared to the Original form of her. they did great introduction of Ilulu. overall I like 1st episode the most. I can not wait for tomorrow episode 2. look forward to it. also put her name it Ilulu in google translate. also. I know I say s2 song is much better than s1 but I still do Love all 4 of them.
2021 marked Kyoto's return to anime in the best way possible. The studio's first series after recovering from the fire nearly two years before was the second season of the slice-of-life fantasy satire series Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid.
Quetzalcoatl is a feathered serpent in the mythology she comes from, so Shouta is basically snake charming her and she's moving subconsciously to the recorder
Ilulu has a story that will make you love her. Tough life…. Hang in there.
Ilulu's design is borderline go / no go situation however there is an explanation to why she have that big, although I would agree that some are not comfortable with it.
Since dragon don't need sleep really, Fafnir most likely on his game a lot. Sometimes 24 hours a day, and so for most mmo that could look like hacking, and or cheating.
Ilulu doesn't 'bewbs', those are her energy tanks/hot air sacs 8D (no really they are, its canon XD)
