I'm not very surprised , Especially if a likely much bigger budget Blade Runner anime can't get even get a physical release. Still disappointed though. Would have bought them both on Blu-Ray!
Not sure if anyone has done this yet, but wouldn't it be possible for someone with a taped copy of the anime's Toonami broadcast to upload it to the Internet Archive?
That's very unfortunate… I don't know if they ever did something like that but it would be amazing if another company could do it instead, just like LRG does physical games for those games that didn't get a traditional physical release.

I was looking forward to having behind the scenes, commentary and including English and Japanese Dubs. Whenever we get any momentum in the franchise we can expect someone somewhere to F it up for us.
From the biggest Kickstarter in history to this. How absolutely sad. Shenmue 3 killed the franchise. The bungled pre-order, distribution issues, exclusive content locked behind paywall, exclusive to the Epic game store, and then the game itself.
It feels like money laundering or something. Maybe Yu Suzuki will join Yuji Naka in hot water. How the mighty Sega has fallen. 😢
I am genuinely surprised, the quality of the animation was superb. This is a product that you could show anyone interested in anime to enjoy. Sadly, it does then lead to the promotion of priacy, if thats the only way to gain a version which i can keep – which is ideal for no one.
Think your right there’s too many fingers in the pie..Companies just don’t like sharing.. Such a shame we won’t get the blu ray!! Can’t blame fans for pirating it..

The shenmue anime I made a fan copy of it I also made a digital copy of it I figured we would never get it on dvd or bd:(

Maybe the reason they cancelled the anime is so it won’t ruin the games when they continue to come out over the next few years…
