  1. I wish Simon had watched "chopper" beforehand. Its not entirely accurate but it really paints a picture in your mind of the man. Also chopper was very domestically successful. After relase most Australians knew him. He's almost charming believe it or not.

  2. Simon will have a BLAST with the Artic Avenger, cliff notes, got the sex offenders registry, and went hunting in Alaska.

  3. Wow, what a character. I don't really get why he is loved, he seems like an absolute psycho and general nightmare to be around, and I also think he had no morals and mainly tried to make himself look good, by trying to rationalize his abhorrent behaviour. But he is a facinating human being, but not in a positive way. He reminds me that characters like Beggbie from Trainspotting not only exist in real life, but there are even crazier people out there.

  4. eric bana made a movie about chopper read. also read about him in an FHM issue, i think. he's a damn legit legend!

  5. I saw Chopper Reed speak at a pub a few decades ago and he called my friend an "underage little cunt" cos he looked young and focused on him the whole evening… My friend bragged about that for the rest of time 😅

  6. It's funny that it isn't even a divisive topic in Australia. It's like 99% of people loved Chopper. We also glorify Ned Kelly and he's practically an Australian icon even though his gang killed 3 cops and stole a bunch of money.

  7. Please stop talking about Christianity. It sets my teeth on edge because I know enough to understand the differences between denominations.

  8. Whatever you think of Chopper, you've got admire the sheer balls of the man. I'm one who's terrified if i upset anyone! I'd like a tiny bit of whatever chopper was having 😂

  9. A few corrections on pronunciation for Simon, Bendigo is pronounced like Wendigo, Geelong like Gelong and Launceston is pronounced Inceston.

  10. I was working in a bookshop in Perth when one of his books came out. We sold loads of copies. It poured out the door. I'd seen one of his interviews. I just thought he was a bit of a w*nker.
It made no sense to me then, still doesn't now.
The movies pretty good tho. Eric Bana was amazing in it. His performance was amazing

  11. Me, a casual film nerd, when they mention “Toe Cutters”: 🤔 “Australian gangsters…called toe cutters…” 🏎️

  12. I’m laying here smiling because growing up in Australia we saw him in the news or betrayed in a movie and he wasn’t scary to use normal people at all, drug dealers and kids fiddlers yeah but not us all that much besides playing Russian roulette with that news presenter 😂 but that’s just chopper.

  13. As a Melbournian I am VERY Happy you've pronounced my home town correctly!!!! Love all of your stuff, but this one was awesome for an aussie!!
