  1. Rogue does have some really brutal combos with Astalor. A late game finisher would be Astalor, swing with Record Scratcher for 7 refresh (up to 9), MC Blingtron, Bounce Around, and Astalor again for double damage (42 total).
Obvious overkill and not needed in most cases but it just shows the potential.
Edit-Guess he ended up trying something like this next day, lol. I'm sure he didn't get the idea from me, BTW

  2. Sorry Trump, but I just cannot get behind the fact that you said Imp Warlock will be tier 2. It's hardly losing any cards and has been tier 1 for last 6 months. (Diamond – Legend) I believe it will be the strongest deck that you can play. Other than that, loving the review as always!

  3. besides hero power druid, rainbow DK is the deck I'm most excited to try. If I somehow pack CNE I want to build a mine deck that uses boneshredder as a combo piece and corpse spender, double the value!! Then CNE doesn't have to be my only win condition but still can be or a big heal/swing

  4. I have been waiting for this video since all the Festival of Legends was announced. Trump's star rating videos are always so entertaining to watch!!

  5. I was thinking maybe ASStalor rogue isn't THAT strong because you need to get to 10 mana before it deals 14… although you probably can still do a lot of damage dealing only 7…

  6. Neutral Minions are rated too harshly, Audio Amplifier, Cover Artist, Ghost Writer and Amplified Elek have some potential

  7. I don't agree with most of those.
    Paladin looks underrated
    Rogue looks VERY underrated
Mr Mukla slots in the same decks as bunch of bananas, in Face Hunter, because it's a 6 mana 10/10

Rowdy Fan (the best card of the expansion) getting 2 stars is a blasphemy.

ETC at 5 stars is a lmao.

  8. Rowdy Fan needing a minion on board is a literal non-issue when almost every single deck that would even think of running it is going to be like 25 minions or ways to summon minions. It's a 3 mana 1/5 deal 4 damage which is insanely cheap neutral burst for aggro decks.

I just want to know how he can make that call regarding this card when it has the EXACT SAME stipulation as the Paladin weapon that he gave 5 stars.

  9. I don’t play the game anymore, but play hs vicariously though YouTube. I just gotta say, this set has probably had the most flavour and best references I’ve seen. The class themes really feel like they fit each genre, not just in the art and clever naming, but in the general flow of gameplay.

  10. Big Paladin is working out well so far due to nobody running silences, suspect with the way a lot of decks are working out that there's going to be much more run in the next week.

  11. FESTIVAL OF LEGENDS: 2 WEEKS LATER

This is covering the first two weeks of Festival of Legends, up to the second set of balance changes.

Three days in marked nerfs to Lightray (9 → 10 mana), Vengeful Walloper (6 → 7 mana), and Construct Quarter (3 → 2 uses). These nerfs bordered on inconsequential.

    META SNAPSHOT

Remember when everyone thought Death Knight was going to be Tier 1 in 3 different ways on release? They were right, just not immediately. Death Knight has a complete stranglehold over the entire meta, dominating at virtually every rank bracket, despite having a rather mediocre set, mostly because they lost 0 cards in the rotation. When you get past that, Pure Paladin with the Divine Shield package is the biggest noobstomper, Tony Druid to defeat you with your own deck, occasional Outcast and Relic DHs, Miracle Rogues, and Undead Priests. Not a lot of decks are using new cards, mostly because a lot of these packages suck.

    CORRECT

Death Knight – With exactly 0 new cards, Frost Aggro DK is the strongest deck in the game, by a country mile. From there, Blood DK is the premiere attrition deck and counter to Frost Aggro, which received a nice power up with the additions of Arcanite Ripper and Screaming Banshee. Death Growl and Pozzik are common inclusions to Unholy, but that rune is significantly more experimental and less refined. Rainbow completely flopped, as did most other components of the Deathrattle package.

Demon Hunter – Outcast is the “new” deck which shows the most promise in current meta. Now with the nerf and shifting meta, it’s lost a lot of its popularity and to a lesser extent its power, but it’s still one of the main shapers of the meta, by the standards of a non-DK deck. The weird attack stuff didn’t pan out. Taste of Chaos is core to Relic DH.

Druid – Druid took some time to develop, and was mostly shaped by the discovery of Mish Mash Mosher and Attorney-at-Maw, a two card clear the board and develop a really big guy combo. It’s fueled by the Hero Power package for survivability, but uses Tony, King of Piracy to end games by Fatiguing the opponent. A major meta development was sometimes intentionally destroying the deck after playing Tony against decks able to kill him, and force them into a catch-22 – either die to your board, or die to Fatigue.

Kangor Paladin – Current meta Paladin has a pile of great cheap minions, hence why Pure is so good. Why would you ever cut those minions out just to run Kangor?

Priest – Idol’s Adoration is one of 2 new cards run in Undead Priest (the other being Pozzik). The Overheal was largely MIA and struggled against rival Aggro decks too much. Control Priest is caught in the crossfire of other decks rising to beat DK, like Druid and DH.

Weapon Rogue – Goes into the Pirate package, running Air Guitarist, Mic Drop, and Harmonic Hip Hop. It’s pretty weak, but helps the deck along. Blingtron is too difficult for Rogue to exact full value from, and other forms of closing out the game are better.

Demon Warlock – While many early Control Warlocks ran both the Big Demon and Big Undead packages, the demons were quickly phased out as it was overkill.

Riff Warrior – Ouch, that is seriously weak dude!

Instrument Tech – Special mention to Wild where the Tech is the straw on the camel's back that got Twig of the World Tree nerfed.

Photographer Fizzle – Bait card of the set. Ran in many slower decks (even Miracle Rogue), but is consistently horrible save for Relic DH, and even then, it’s cuttable.

Tony, King of Piracy – Namesake card of Tony Druid. Warriors running Tony have a winrate in the 20s though.

    MOSTLY THERE

Hunter – It’s hard oppressed by the Death Knights running about. Face Hunter with the Barrels of Monkeys and Bunches of Bananas are looking very strong, bar DK. Big Beast Hunter is less hopeful, but shows potential when it’s built more like older Big Beast Hunters, as a Renathal midrange deck which uses Big Beasts as power plays.

Pure Paladin – It’s a really strong deck at lower ranks, but struggles the higher up Ladder you go. Disco Maul is amazing, alongside Funkfin and Jitterbug to compliment the numerous Divine Shields this deck runs. Boogie Down is amazing, but Spotlight is bait.

Menagerie Warrior – He was being VERY generous, and I am being generous, in saying it’s unplayably bad. Most of the Menagerie support is horrible, with exception to Roaring Applause and Blackrock and Roll, which is making a blip with the 2 people who play Enrage Warrior. Blackrock and Roll is terrifyingly strong but held back because Midrange Warrior is a meme, watch out for this one after the buffs.

Cover Artist – ran in Chadlock to copy Slimes and other powerful minions this deck runs.

Rowdy Fan – Mostly seeing play in Relic DH, but it’s seeing experimentation in Frost Aggro and Unholy DK.

Pozzik, Audio Engineer – It’s a strong card, and seeing widespread play in weaker aggro decks. Massively overrated, though it might be more fitting if Frost Aggro DK lists running it gain popularity.

    WRONG

Mage – Manastorm Mage has a winrate in the 30s, and is much too slow for current meta. Lightshow Mage isn’t much better. Only Volume Up is seeing play in the rather mediocre Spooky Mage, with Cosmic Keyboard being experimented with in slower lists.

Bounce Rogue – Despite Miracle Rogue being very good, it runs exactly 0 new cards. The Combo/Bounce package is weaker than the Azshara package it runs now. The same is true of Secret Rogue.

Shaman – The class’s only hope is in Totems, which received a major buff from the Core set changes, and, you guessed it, runs 0 new cards. Overload payoffs aren’t good enough to make Overload Shaman work.

Self-Fatigue Warlock – Doesn’t fit anywhere. Big Warlock doesn’t want a bunch of small Imps in its dead pool, and Imp Warlock is struggling without Shady Bartender, Tamsin Roame, and Brann, and the Fatigue cards are not making up the difference.

Ghost Writer – Blood DK runs these as it’s a lot of value out of a 5 mana 4/4 Undead.
