Yesterday we decided to get a 1 day ticket on the Waikiki Trolley which gave us another day to ride the trolleys today. It was a 1 day ticket where you get 2 consecutive days to ride. Today we decided to ride the Red Line which is the Heroes and Legends Line. We hopped on at Stop 3 then off at Stop 1 as we were on the last tour for the day.
This trolley was excellent. Our driver and guide gave a commentary throughout the whole journey. She was a Hawaiian lady and was super knowledgeable. On the trolley ride our favourite stop was statue and the palace followed by Punchbowl Crater and the National Memorial Cemetery drive-through. It was very different to the Blue Line Trolley we did yesterday. It was amazing.
The audio was much much better on this trolley so I’ve left all the audio and commentary on in this video.
From the Waikiki Trolley website:
Red Line: A Story of Hawaii’s rich cultural past and modern present
Hawaii has its own story to tell those who are interested in listening. This is where the Red Line shines. This line takes you through Hawaii’s cultural and historical past, from the time of kings and queens through its importance in WWII and even the cultures that influence it to this day.
Truly, a Hawaiian vacation is incomplete without jumping aboard the Red Line.
