For explanation on why he randomly showed his aura, it's because claiming that you are a demon lord is very unbelievable, if you suddenly claim that you are a demon lord without showing your power most monsters or people would say that you are a fraud, that's how most of the demon lords prove their identity, because only demon lords have an aura like Rimuru's
Anyone else kind of hate this scene slightly? Rimuru doesn't seem like the type of overarly boast about who he is, at least not in this type of way. There are spots when he does but not to this degree. Plus when Shion and Shura talk to boast about him he starts to act overly flattered. It doesn't fit Rimuru to me

And remember, at this point Rimuru is only a tenth of his power in the LN. You anime only fans, are in for a treat in season 3, 4 and 5. If you think the kingdom of falmouth is bad, you hadn't seen the other kingdoms that Rimuru will face
