UNDISPUTED | Shannon reacts to Packers and Jets remain at impasse on Aaron Rodgers

  1. As a Vikings fan I can't stand the Packers but at this point what's the plan? Hold out forever? The Jets will probably say nevermind and then what? Now you really are screwed with Rodgers contract. Just ship him and see if Love is any good or not.

  2. If the deal collapses the worst that happens for GB is that Aaron Rodgers will stay with the team and they will pick the 5th year option on Jordan Love. The Jets on the other hand will have Zack Wilson as QB. It’s not rocket science. We all know which team need to give more to get the deal done

  3. Jets need to tell GB they ain't getting anything near Matthew Stafford haul or a first round pick for that matter. They can give up the first for Lamar and pay him if gonna trade firsts n pay a shit load of money, the QB might as well be Young n not old

  4. After all the years Rodgers has gave the Packers they should just release him. They look greedy and petty.

  5. On the flip side im sure another team could come in and take Rodger tehn what do the Jets have 14th pick and Zach Wilson and another wasted season

  6. Why does everyone continue to think the Packers want the #1 or any picks in this years draft? The 13th pick in the draft is not worth $26m in cap space. I promise you the only thing Green Bay cares about is breaking up the $40m dead cap space over 2 years ($14m this year and $26m next year). A trade will happen, but not until after June 1st…and it will be for a 2nd or 3rd round pick that has the potential to be higher based on performance. This is about cap space.

  7. Packer fans, you have no leverage. Sure, you can keep Rodgers, but at the cost of your team and young QB. Either he sits and is dead cap that could be used elsewhere to help Love's progress or he starts and the Love situation looks even dumber. You gonna suffer that just to be petty pricks? Meanwhile the Jets can try to fix Wilson's attitude, talk to Jackson, or wait till next year for new options they can pursue with the picks they didn't overpay to you. The Jets have options, your Packers don't.

  8. I will tell the jets GM good luck competing in you at division allen and Miami and bill see how that’s go without Rodgers not to mention burrow , malholmes

  9. 1) The Packers GAIN 15+ mil in cap space if this happens AFTER June 1. You can do A LOT more for your team with that cap space than a 2nd or 3rd. So either Jets give them top value, or wait. Wait might actually be better for the team even if the Jets are offering a 1st rounder…
    2) Jets don't meet your demands, let AR show up for camp, sit there in his red jersey, getting backup reps, waiting for Tua's next concussion, or someone's knee injury, etc. Just because it's only the Jets right now, doesn't mean it won't change if a contender's QB goes down to injury. The Packers do NOT take on any extra problems/cap space issues until the first week of the regular season. So the Pack have all the time in the world. If AR doesn't like it, he can retire.
    3) If it's late Aug, and there's been no takers, offer a sweetheart deal to a noncontender (and don't kid yourself, even a crappy team would stand to make money if AR joins their team. Prime time exposure, etc.) Sure, this is the worst-case scenario for the Packers, but you know AR would rather retire than go to some bad team. And voila, he's off the books on the cheap.
There's NO REASON to cave in to the Jets or AR's demands. The Packers are literally holding ALL the cards, and as long as they don't fold, they're fine. Odds are, they can get something decent in return. AND gain cap space for this year, which they need. The idea they have to get this done before the draft is dumb. They're better off waiting until after June 1. Seriously. Why does nobody say this?

  10. Packers don't have to do anything. Aaron's locked in to a deal already. if the trade falls a part Aaron is either retiring or has to stay in GB. What do the Jets have? Zack Wilson. The fans in New York will eat that front office alive if Zack Wilson is starting and the team is 2-7 my mid season, when they could of got Rodgers.

  11. They picked Jordan love so the Colts wouldn't get him. Sat him on the bench for 4 years. I love all the dysfunction in Green Bay.

  12. I'm a Packers fan. I really hope we get that 13th pick. But i know it ain't happening. GB shot themselves in the foot. Aaron Rodgers never even considered retiring until they drafted Jordan Love. He was probably upset with how they were doing business and how conservative they were in the offseason, but none of this shit became more than a rumor until they drafted Jordan Love when Aaron Rodgers still had several years in his contract and was talking about playing into his 40s. In reality, GB has been wanting to get rid of him for years now, but he won back to back mvps and GB was a contender every year until this past season. He doesn't have much trade value though cause his contract is insane, he's coming off his worst season, the team didn't have a winning record with him starting, and he's been a media pariah for reasons both deserving and undeserving so there's no way they get a much for him had they traded him earlier. I feel bad for Love cause it ain't his fault and I'm really hoping he succeeds, but if he fails this is all on upper management thinking about the future so soon when there was a chance to win now. Even outside of ARod, the Packers front office has been screwing up for years now and really the only draft picks under Gute that have really been successful were Alexander and Jenkins. Even Free Agents that year he made splash when they signed Turner, Z, Preston, and Amos they managed to screw that up by running Z out of town, cutting Turner when they needed the o line help, and as of now haven't resigned Amos. I'm holding out hope for Love, Watson, and Doubs as well as the Quay, Stokes, and Wyatt but idk man. For the last few seasons the media in the offseason always says GB is gonna struggle then they overperform and last year they played to expectations and now everyone is surprised and blaming Arod. GB's super bowl chances have been hanging by a thread for awhile but they have survived off good coaching that relied heavy on the play of their stars (especially Rodgers and Adams) on offense while their defense steadily improved before it took a shit again this past season. Now they're most likely cooked and gonna need to build around Love and hope he's the future. I really do hope he is but man these last few years since he's been drafted have been so frustrating and it ain't his fault. They better draft him that first round weapon they never got Arod

  13. What's the freaking holdup??? I'm sure the Jets have some used football equipment laying around that should make the Packers more than happy. Let's go!!!!!
