  1. Some of these facts are a bit off. First Robby is correct that the sixth Mr. Olympia show of 1970 was nearly empty. Up to that point, all the Olympia shows were staged at the Brooklyn Academy Of Music. But because the Weiders had rigged the show for Arnold to win, they staged it on the very last moment at the Beacon Theatre. Sergio had a huge Black & Latin fan base following, and the Weiders feared a back lash when Sergio would lose. So during those Pre-Internet days, a sudden change of venue would be unknown to the bodybuilding show buying market. Keep in mind that the Mr. Olympia contest was new and actually did not draw well, in fact the first show LOST money when the Weiders promoted it. Larry Scott got NO prize money and had to settle for a cheesy crown! The N.A.B.B.A. Mr. Universe was the Top Bodybuilding Title to win at this time. The Olympia show could only draw Weider paid off competitors and has-been Mr. Universe winners past their primes. The 1970 show only had three competitors. The Arnold tricking Sergio off the stage during the pose down is sheer utter nonsense. A stupid excuse for giving Arnold the title. The truth is that all bodybuilding shows were PRE-JUDGED in the afternoon. So that the evening show would be entertainment with all placings determined before hand. The pose downs did NOT determine the final placings. They were just Entertainment. As for the 1970 A.A.U. Mr. World here's the deal: Jim Lorimer was the promoter of the show and secretly was Arnold's then new manager. The A.A.U. Bodybuilding division had been run by the Racist Bob Hoffman who was a Weider detractor. Bob Hoffman swore that NO Black, Hispanic or Jewish man would ever become Mr. America. And Sergio who was a Black Hispanic man never had a prayer of winning the title. They only let him win the Jr. Mr. America and Most Muscular titles. And lost to the weakest competitors at the Mr. America. That's why Sergio switched to Weider's I.F.B.B. Lorimer had Arnold, Dave Draper and Boyer Coe flown from England via private jet to Columbus for the Mr. World show. He got A.B.C. Wide World Of Sports to televise the show. Sergio had a very DUMB manager who got Suckered by Jim to get Sergio to compete at the show over his chance to be seen on A.B.C. T.V. Of course, the show was rigged for Arnold to win. If you look at the show pictures, Arnold is posing behind stage objects which are hiding Arnold's PUNY leg development. A clear contest violation. Arnold had just gotten his first pair of Calf Implants, but his legs were still PUNY compared to Sergio's. I was just a kid when I saw the 1970 Mr. World telecast and not into bodybuilding. But me and my uncle looked at each other and both of us said that the Black Man should have won. The 1972 Olympia in Essen Germany was a complete and total Farce. Arnold was FAT, FLAT and FLABBY and should have placed fourth behind Sergio, Serge Nubret and Frank Zane. The dark wood paneling was just another B.S. excuse for giving Arnold a B.S. win.
