This heavily reminds me of “kill the hero” but with more of a focus on the gods than the players, and while the mc “seems” competent, I can’t help but feel that with the expanded focus to include the gods and the machinations therein as well as other players, he seems a bit lacking in comparison. He’s not a bad mc, it just feels as though he isn’t as impressive. I guess some people would like that he’s not “Op mc” but I prefer a character with more control over events rather than one being dragged along by everyone else. That’s a personal viewpoint though and doesn’t take away from the story, even though it bugs me I’ll keep going to see where this ends up.
