The adaptation is the only reason why mushoku tensei is better than rezero.the animation diff is not even close. Character writing is better in mushoku tensei imo.

Yeah rezero didn’t deserve this treatment and it’s a good opinion i have that after season 1 we lost season 2 and 3 which were extremely mid imo

For those in season 3 let’s look at garfiel. His arc was emotional and the MAIN PERSPECTIVE FOR 90% of the arc. His fear that he’ll never beat Reinhardt and how he’s just like Subaru fearing his power will never be enough….but what do we get? We keep seeing his hallucinations of Elsa and they’re extremely boring and take away from his character arc. Let’s not also add his battle against big blue was completely nerfed. I get it the animations looked nice but don’t lie to me they’re impossible to follow and that means I don’t care how well animated it is, if I can’t follow the battle I don’t care for the scene. Like I HATE when anime talk while they battle but in the case of garfiel he’s the one talking WHILE moving and fighting constantly thinking and replanning his approach against an enemy with no thoughts for us to see and that’s amazing because it puts us in Garfiels shoes while we face this impossible wall of a man.

Season 2 also cut a lot of the interesting introspection Subaru goes through and that’s the issue dialogue in rezero is wasted on “don’t worry Emilia tan I will save you” and not Subaru’s true opinions on characters like the gluttony witch or who’s planning the mansion raid that Subaru never tells us the audience until Meili and Elsa appear then we learn it all through show not tell.

So much unique dialogue was cut because Japanese animators don’t understand this thing called “you can have characters talking and thinking WHILE MOVING” I swear you’ll see no anime have their characters moving and thinking at the same time

I love re:zero, but if it does become classic, they oughta remake the shit out of the anime. First season cut stuff they had no reason to. Season two was better about it, but the general quality of the season was mid. Season three was more appealing and there wasn't a ton 'cut' but everything was speedran. I feel like if it ends up as a major IP, (which I hope it does) it needs a remake with better pacing, better cuts, and better animation.

We've seen anime that have NO fans get good animation and a studio to pick it up. Why would you even consider Re:zero to not have a studio pick it up? I feel the only thing holding it back is crunchyroll gatekeeping the IP and crappy marketing, if crunchyroll lets go of the series or sells the IP it would probably instantly get picked up.
