This time line,the original one, is in 2022, the one we have been following is in 2016 so takopi went back 6 years into the past which is what we saw since ep 1

In the past, I see something wrong here. There's too much of a trend of people siding with Marina, probably because most people relate more closely to 'domestic violence' than physical assault at school. So people tend to sympathize with Marina, or maybe just because she's cute, people try to rationalize defending the crimes she committed by shouting 'Shizuka is like her mother' to try to diminish the legitimacy of Shizuka's self-defense.

Of course Marina's domestic violence from episode 3 of the anime was shocking, and no one should feel good about that. But I'm even more shocked when people say things like 'Marina-chan is so stressed, what else could she do but bully Shizuka? Even though many people hate her, I still like Marina.' So you should vent your emotions by hurting someone weaker than you who is also a victim like you? So you can feel comfortable in your 'victim role'? No wonder bullying still exists so much and bullies often pretend to be victims when caught.

People defending Marina often claim they're adults, viewing things through a 'family' lens rather than individual perspective – that 'adults should take responsibility.' But honestly, it looks like selective reasoning.

They call Marina a 'victim of domestic violence' but call Shizuka, who is a victim of almost everything, 'evil like her mother,' even though all three children are victims of terrible adults in the story. None of them deserved to experience these terrible things. But only Marina chose to hurt others and was the cause of Shizuka's breakdown. Shizuka isn't a good person, but if you can sympathize with Marina, you should understand Shizuka too.

But people were most shocked when Marina died, more than when Shizuka was killed multiple times.

When Shizuka was happy that Marina died, people got angry and shouted 'Shizuka is broken.' Hey, if Shizuka is just broken, then Marina probably isn't human. And clearly most people are so far from the problem they don't understand Shizuka's perspective and end up offering naive solutions like 'tell a teacher or consult an adult,' 'talk to friends,' 'fight back.'

You don't need to like Marina just because you feel sorry for her or because her life resembles yours (stressful home situations), because what Marina did was criminal. And the last time Shizuka would fight back would probably end in the 'murder' you're all complaining about.

I experienced domestic violence. My father stabbed a knife through the bathroom door where I was hiding. He destroyed my bedroom until the hinges broke. Sometimes when bad things happened, he would hit my head hard from behind. That made me walk with my head down all the time due to PTSD and lack of confidence because my mother always yelled that I was more worthless than worker's shit. There was an incident where I almost went blind in my left eye. It took more than ten years for me to rehabilitate my personality, though it's still not perfect. I was heavily bullied at school too. But that's no reason to hurt innocent people. If I met another victim, I would treat them as well as possible, not use them as a punching bag. Turning strangers into victims because you were a victim first is simply 'criminal.'

I enjoy it every time I see naive people claiming to be adults trying to boast 'I'm an adult' and 'I have high emotional maturity.' What happened when comments laughed at Marina in episode 2? You got angry? But you should understand that most people didn't read the manga in advance. It wasn't until episode 3 that the anime fully revealed Marina's background. You couldn't think through this simple logic and are saying 'I have high maturity.'

I'm an adult too, just single. And there's more than just the number of years.

I've seen so many people's problems, and most people who believe 'I could handle it if I faced that' usually couldn't endure even 10% of what Shizuka faced each day.

Most ordinary people actually have pathetically low tolerance for problems when truly immersed in the situation themselves, contrary to what they often boast about online. The online world is full of men who can take down bears and wolves with bare hands, but when it actually happens, I usually see dead humans.
