  1. In my mind I can see retirement. In reality my retirement is still far away enough that it is unseen LOL. Keep pumping out your videos Adam. I always look forward to them.

  2. Any tips on getting objective financial advice if you have less than $100,000 net worth? I noticed the planners listed with FP Canada either require $1 million net worth or they work for a financial institution. I've had bad experiences at FIs I am reading Personal Finance for Dummies in the meantime 😊

  3. My wife and I recently retired, our financial planner say we are on track and for a comfortable retirement, but my fear of running out of cash still keeps me up at night . I’m trying hard to rid of the fears in my head but watching inflation and taxes continuously on the rise scares me.

  4. Thank you for your informative video. Looks like “Plan, Plan, Plan” relax and enjoy. Like a chipmunk we horde nuts and seeds for (in our case) decades only to have all these nuts, be afraid to eat them, just in case you don’t get hit by a car…

  5. Speaking of "unseen", one recent experience has me doubting the "go-go, slow-go & no-go" phases of retirement spending. I believe these phases of declining expenditures only apply to entertainment spending (eg. travel, eating out, shows, etc.) but not to living expenses. Living expenses tend to climb as one gets older and can easily cancel out the savings in entertainment. For example, as one gets older, they are less capable of doing yard work, shoveling snow, home repairs, etc. So these must be contracted out, creating expenses. And once someone reaches the no-go phase, they likely require assistance with day to day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc. By that time, one has to either hire personal support workers ($34/hr), purchase meals on wheels or move to a retirement home ($5k a month and up depending on health). I don't see these increasing expenses included in any of the financial projections. Yet these expenditures are very real and will only increase in the future as demand increases due to aging population. Can you include these expenses in your future videos?

  6. I am very lucky I am an introvert. Introverts will have an easier time in retirement because they don't need much social interaction – if any. Every day I go to work and think ' I can't wait to never see these people again." And most of the people I like, but I just don't need them and they are not in my 'outside work' life. That boundary, I think, is very important for people. No one wants to become one of those pathetic people that shows up to work after retirement because they have nothing else to do and no other people in their life. As for anxieties, I don't think that will go away for anyone. It's human nature because none of us know the future. But you can get caught in it. Most plans like to assess your funds to age 90 (which very few of us will reach)…but then you push it further to 95 because WHAT IF!!! It can go on forever and pretty soon you are thinking your plan needs to last to 100 LOL. At some point you just have to let go of it or you will never enjoy retirement. It can get ridiculous.

  7. Another great video Adam. Just retired and it is a bit of a struggle to change from savings mode to spending mode but after several years of watching your videos and working with my financial advisor we have the numbers and a plan in place to make it much easier. My wife and i have decided to go to Florida for 2 or 3 weeks in January to experience our new found freedom! 😂🎉🍻🥳 THANKS ADAM 👍

  8. Hi Adam, thanks for a great video again.
I am not sure about talking about "fear", maybe it is just me.
I understand it might be useful for others.
I really appreciate the financial aspect of your videos (as you know!)
    Cheers,
    a.

  9. The special you have in the master class… we are 49&53 with the opportunity to retire next year if we wish. Would the course still be useful? We are working with a financial planner. Would this help us understand the options for us and are they deciding the right options for us?

  10. 🐝How can you find a LIRA account you have forgotten you had as a result of no communication from the bank after you closed your account with that bank? ls there a government agency that is responsible for monitoring these accounts and keeping these financial institutions accountable?🐝

  11. Adam, I’ve been watching your videos for a couple years, 2-5 years away from retirement, my wife and I have been trying to find a financial advisor that works for us, I’ve met we 3 different people, currently from our bank, they all have turned out to be more like salespeople than advisors. Can you recommend a video on how to find one. Thanks

  12. I've watched many of your video's and you do an excellent job. Thank you very much for all the helpful information you provide to your followers.
