In the My Hero Academia Ultra Analysis Databook, beyond all of the interesting stats that there are for characters, there’s also the special gem of an interview between Bleach Author Tite Kubo, and My Hero Academia’s Kohei Horikoshi! In the interview it starts off with them both being asked how they met, with Hori telling a story of introducing himself to Kubo at a dinner party around the time his first series was canceled, but Kubo laughs and says he doesn’t remember that at all. He says the first time he remembers meeting Horikoshi was at a dinner party at Hori’s house, but even at that time Horikoshi didn’t say a word to him the entire night and apparently sat in a corner, with Hori explaining in the interview that he was so nervous with having so many guests in his house. They’ve gotten closer since then, because Kubo reveals that he didn’t read Jump when he was drawing Bleach, but afterwards he discovered MHA and it really grabbed his attention, so he HAD to meet Horikoshi for the third time properly.
