Man kubo definitely love fucking over interesting characters. Like introduce them as badass only to get mind whip by the plot to demonstrate the new power structure of the world.
I mean imagine shinji? Look at this scene, he demonstrated his bankai earlier and when he used shikai against aizen. He was one of the most powerful captain/vizard to exist yet at this scene he was only used to demonstrate how terrifying vollständing is.
