Vanessa Redgrave, Joely Richardson “The Aspern Papers/MissTita” by Henry James, based on real events
.. READ IT?? https:// www.gutenberg.org/files/211/211-h/211-h.htm
.. with Johnathan Rhys Meyers as our unnamed and “unreliable” narrator* ..
.. “The Aspern Papers” was a novella, originally published in ‘The Atlantic Monthly’ in 1888, with its first book publication later in the same year. One of James’s best-known and most acclaimed longer tales, ‘The Aspern Papers’ was inspired by the letters Percy Bysshe Shelley wrote to Mary Shelley’s stepsister, Claire Clairmont (the mother of Lord Byron’s daughter!) who saved the letters until she died .. Does anybody know for sure what hapened to the letters at the time of her death??
*An unreliable narrator is a character in a story whose credibility is compromised, meaning they may mislead the audience through lies, omissions, or distorted perceptions. This narrative technique is often used to create twists and deepen themes related to human perception and memory.

I probably would not have uploaded this adaptation if the fantastically wonderful & talented mother & daughter weren't in it .. and it is nicely photographed, so .. Anyway, I added something after their intro (but before they speak) & added a quiet outro .. just in case they blocked the film .. as this leaves me with something to show everybody .. IDKY but the sudden intervention of a robust American voice kinda hurt my brain!
